Opening Session: Beyond the Chat: Preparing for the Age of AI Agents
Alexander Solod

The chatbot era of AI is ending. Tools like Claude Cowork and OpenClaw represent a new wave of autonomous agents that can browse the web, manage files, and complete multi-step tasks by themselves with minimal hand-holding from the user. This shift requires educators to rethink AI on two fronts: how they use it in their own workflows, and how they prepare students for a world where AI doesn’t just answer questions but takes action. In this session, I’ll demo what these tools actually look like in practice, show how to best harness their capabilities, and give you a framework for thinking about where AI agents fit into your day-to-day and how to best prepare for a more automated world. Cleared for Takeoff: Using AI to Bridge the Gap from Blocks to Python Flight
Danielle Bottinger
Middlebrook School, Wilton School District

The transition from blocks to Python is where many students lose their curiosity. While most platforms feature a “Convert to Python” button, visibility doesn’t always equal understanding. In this session, we transform students into Flight Engineers using Generative AI as a mentor to audit and refactor auto-generated code for the CoDrone EDU. By shifting from passive coders to active engineers, students move beyond simple syntax into professional-grade logic and computational thinking. Attendees will leave with a framework to turn AI into a Technical Mentor

Using Google NotebookLM: The AI Research Assistant
Andrew Abate
Riverdale Country School

NotebookLM is an AI research assistant. Unlike AI tools such as Gemini or chatGPT which pull from their entire database, NotebookLM only uses the documents and resources you provide. Upload PDFs, text, websites, YouTube videos, or Google Drive items. You can then ask NotebookLM to answer questions, summarize specific topics, create review materials, or generate a podcast discussion between two AI hosts. In this session, we will give a quick tutorial on how to use NotebookLM for either your personal or professional use, as well as examine some different use cases.

Teaching Smarter: Using Technology to Plan, Track, and Support Student Learning
Erin Kobyluck
Integrated Day Charter School

Within this session, we’ll cover some practical and effective plans for using educational technology to improve instructional planning, assignment management, and student progress tracking in the classroom. By leveraging digital tools, teachers can streamline workflows, provide timely feedback, support student organization, and use data to inform instruction. Assignment planning and tracking can feel overwhelming without knowing where to start. I started my position with nothing made, and have created some great tools to share with others about how to plan effectively, track student data, and provide feedback using technology.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly: When and When Not to Use Technology
Susannah Richards
Eastern Connecticut State University

The focus of this presentation is on evidence-based technology integration that increases learning. Recent data suggest that the time students spend on screens may not positively impact their thinking and problem-solving. Technology has and will continue to change how and what we learn, but it does not decrease the need for students to be able to read, write, think, problem-solve, and think in all content areas. This session will focus on creating classroom environments where teachers and students effectively use technologies of all types when those technologies increase students’ ability to learn content, skills, and strategies. It will ask the questions-What is the role of technologies in teaching?, and What are the criteria to encourage students to use those technologies to improve the content, strategies, and skills?. There are times when the best use of technology for a lesson is increase teacher knowledge and/or delivery of the content. There are other times when the strongest case for technology is for students to use it to demonstrate their learning. The goal is to focus on what students need to learn and move them from what they already know to what they need to know. Current classroom examples will be highlighted in the presentation.

From Error to Excellence: Building AI Feedback Loops for STEM Mastery
Yue Pu
Fairfield University

How can AI turn a “wrong” answer into a mastery moment? This session demonstrates how to build Custom GPTs that create an automated feedback and reevaluation loop for STEM students. Discuss how to use Custom GPTs to analyze incorrect work, provide scaffolded hints, and generate targeted new problems to verify conceptual understanding. This approach ensures students master the underlying logic, not just the final answer. Participants will leave with a practical framework to build AI partners that personalize remediation, foster independent problem-solving, and close learning gaps in the STEM classroom.

Integrating Desmos with Project Based Learning in Algebra
Emily LeBlanc
Coventry Public Schools

Kyle Ferreira van Leer
Coventry Public Schools

Discover the capabilities of the Desmos graphing calculator beyond simply graphing isolated equations. Experience an example of using the program to synthesize the learning of linear functions in the form of a summative project. We will use Desmos to create a house or structure for a digital pet. Through the project, participants will learn how they can use Desmos to simultaneously consolidate existing knowledge while also developing new skills. Join us to get messy and have fun as we explore the integration of math, design, and technology!
