We are excited that you will be joining us on Wednesday, May 8, for the Teaching and Learning with Technology conference. Once again, the conference will be held on the University of Connecticut Storrs campus. Conference attendance, UConn parking, and lunch are included in your $120.00 registration fee.
If you are planning to drive to campus, you should park in the South Parking Garage. For your convenience, visit https://maps.uconn.edu/map/locations/155 for a link to the UConn campus map. You need to pre-register your car for the day. Please use the following link to register for parking prior to arriving: https://www.offstreet.io/location/G2RIFQAR
When prompted, enter the passcode you were given via email from our office. If you need to change the information on your parking registration, please contact stephanie.huntington@uconn.edu Only register your car if you are planning to drive to campus and park in the South Garage on May 8.
All sessions will be held in Lawrence D. McHugh Hall (same location as in past years). Signs will mark the path from the parking garage to Lawrence D. McHugh Hall. The registration desk will be located on the first floor of McHugh Hall. Registration will begin at 7:45 a.m. and run until 8:45 a.m. with the conference scheduled to start promptly at 9:00 a.m.
When you check-in, you will also receive a card with funds ($15) for lunch. You will use the card to pay for the lunch you select in the Union Street Market in the Student Union, which is in the building next to McHugh Hall. We ask that you return the card to the registration desk or one of our staff after you use it to pay for your lunch. Lunch is from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m. For more information on the food options available at Union Street Market visit: https://dining.uconn.edu/union-street-market/
You will want to stay until the end, since we have scheduled outstanding sessions up to 3:10 p.m. After the welcome and opening panel, you may choose one of seven different breakout sessions during each of four different time slots (for a total of 28 different options). The full program with descriptions is on our website (https://ipad.education.uconn.edu/2024program/ ), so you can make your selections before you arrive; however, you are free to attend any session you wish when you are here. All of the presentations will take place in McHugh Hall.
You will be able to use the campus internet while you are here. The University of Connecticut has a wireless network for guests. We will have people available to assist you with technology.
This is the week that UConn shuts off the steam to service the steam pipes. That means we cannot control the temperature in the conference rooms. Depending on Wednesday’s temperature, you may wish to bring a sweater to the conference if it is cooler.
I think we have once again put together an outstanding program that features practitioners in classrooms who are using technology on a daily basis to increase student learning.
