We are excited that you will be joining us on Wednesday, May 11, for the Teaching and Learning with iPads, Chromebooks, and Cloud-Based Computing conference. This certainly is an interesting time for educator use of technology. Once again, the conference will be held on the University of Connecticut Storrs campus.
You should park in the South Parking Garage. All sessions will be held in Lawrence D. McHugh Hall (formerly Laurel Hall). Signs will mark the path from the parking garage to Lawrence D. McHugh Hall. The registration desk will be located on the first floor of McHugh Hall. For your convenience, click here for a link to the UConn campus map. Registration will begin at 7:45 a.m. and run until 8:45 a.m. with the conference scheduled to start promptly at 9:00am.
Conference attendance, UConn parking, and lunch are included in your $120.00 registration fee. You will receive a parking pass when you check-in. You will want to stay until the end, since we have scheduled outstanding sessions up to 3:10 p.m. After the welcome, you may choose one of four or five different breakout sessions during each of four different time slots (for a total of 19 different options). The full program with descriptions is on our website, so you can make your selections before you arrive; however, you are free to attend any session you wish when you are here. All of the presentations will take place in McHugh Hall.
You will be able to use the campus internet while you are here. The University of Connecticut has a wireless network for guests. We will have people available to assist you with technology.
When you check-in, you will also receive a card with funds ($15) for lunch. You will use the card to pay for the lunch you select in the Union Street Market in the Student Union, which is in the building next to McHugh Hall. Lunch is from 11:40 to 1:00 p.m. For more information on the food options available at Union Street Market visit: Union Street Market | Dining Services (uconn.edu)
The program titles, descriptions and times are on our website (http://ipad.education.uconn.edu) under the 2022 Conference Schedule/Sessions menu. Although we have reduced the size of the conference due to COVID restrictions (UConn currently requires masks), I think we have once again put together an outstanding program that features practitioners in classrooms who are using technology on a daily basis to increase student learning.
